After 11 years of dedicated voluntary service, founding trustee David Clark has stepped down from Sunrise’s Board. David has been with Sunrise since day one and has played a significant role in helping us grow into the strong, community-focused organisation we are today.
“One of the real highlights of my time with Sunrise has been reaching our goal last year of growing endowments to $10 million within 10 years,” says David. “To see that, just 18 months later, we’re now well over $12 million and distributing over $560,000 in grants this year alone is remarkable. That continued growth means Sunrise can now make an even greater impact across our region.”
David also acknowledged the team behind the scenes. “I want to thank Glenda for her energy and dedication, and the wider team for their hard work. Sunrise’s success is the result of that collective commitment. Our region is in good hands.”
We’re incredibly grateful to David for the time, wisdom, and passion he has given to Sunrise, and we thank him for helping lay such a solid foundation for the future. Stepping into the trustee role is Stephen Thomson, who has served on our Grants Committee for a number of years and brings a great understanding of Sunrise and our goals for the future.
"Being part of the Grants Committee has opened my eyes to the incredible work happening out there,” says Stephen. “Now, as a trustee, I’m excited to play a part in the wider picture. What I love about Sunrise is that when you give, your gift keeps growing, helping support the causes you care about, not just today, but for generations to come.”
All the best and thank you, David. And welcome, Stephen, we look forward to the fresh perspective you will bring.
