Sunrise supports charities and community organisations that have a charitable purpose in Tairāwhiti-Gisborne (the area covered by the Gisborne District Council).

Since we launched five years ago we have awarded grants with a total value of $310,000 to worthy causes across the arts, education, environment, health, social services and sports communities in Tairāwhiti-Gisborne.

When you can apply 

We do one funding round per annum, applications are now closed.

Funding round dates for 2020 will be announced in June. Please check back on our website closer to the time.

Who can apply

Eligibility and funding priorities are decided each year by the Sunrise Grants Committee and set out in our funding policy.
