Sunrise supports charities and community organisations that have a charitable purpose in Tairāwhiti-Gisborne (the area covered by the Gisborne District Council).

Since we launched in 2014 we have awarded grants with a total value of $750,000 to worthy causes across the arts, education, environment, health, social services and sports communities in Tairāwhiti-Gisborne.

When you can apply 

We do one funding round per annum, applications for 2022 will open on 1 June 2022 and close on 19 July 2022 at 4pm. Applicants in the 2022 funding round will be notified by 28 September 2022.

 

Who can apply

Eligibility and funding priorities are decided each year by the Sunrise Grants Committee and set out in our funding policy.
