Accessing healthcare can be challenging for many living up the Coast, where long distances and limited transport options make essential appointments difficult to reach.

Thanks to support from Sunrise, the Tairāwhiti Fijian Community can now grow its sport and wellbeing initiatives for people of all ages throughout Tairāwhiti.

Storytelling runs deep in Tairāwhiti, and this creative energy was uplifted thanks to a grant from Sunrise’s General Fund and support from other sponsors.

Since 2012, the Tairāwhiti Multicultural Council (TMC) has been a driving force for unity in our region, creating spaces where every culture is valued and every person feels they belong.

For more than 60 years, Comet Swimming Club has been a place where generations of locals have learned water confidence, built lifelong skills, and discovered the joy of swimming.
