Look How Far We've Come

Sunrise's Growth Reflects a Community That Cares

The past year has seen phenomenal growth for Sunrise Foundation. At the end of March 2024, our funds under management totalled $8.2 million. Fast-forward 18 months, and thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, that figure has now grown to over $11 million.

We now manage 65 funds, and the number continues to grow. We're seeing more groups consider transferring their funds to Sunrise – often when winding down a society or trust. Whether due to increased compliance requirements, succession challenges, or simply a desire to ensure long-term impact, Sunrise offers a practical and meaningful way to secure a lasting legacy.

“The growth we’re seeing reflects the deep trust our community has in Sunrise. It’s humbling to witness people planning not just for today, but for the long-term wellbeing of our region," says Glenda Stokes, Sunrise Foundation CEO.

September is Wills Month – a timely reminder to review your will and consider including a gift to Sunrise. We know of at least $25 million that has been pledged to Sunrise in wills, but there may be much more we aren’t yet aware of. These gifts will one day be invested to support local causes year after year.

Leaving a gift in your will isn’t just for the rich and famous – it’s something anyone can do. A gift of any size can support a cause close to your heart and create a legacy that continues to make a difference long after you're gone.
